AEQUITAS LEGAL PARTNERS is comprised of professionals (lawyers and consultants) selected from legal experts trained at the best universities in the Democratic Republic of Congo and abroad, with proven professional experience in the firm’s main areas of practice. Holder of a Law degree from the University of Kinshasa (1989), a Master of Laws (1995), and a Doctorate in Law from the University of Hamburg in the Federal Republic of Germany (1998), Me Jean-Michel Kumbu ki Ngimbi is a university professor, primarily at the University of Kinshasa and other institutions in the DRC (including the Protestant University in Congo, the Catholic University of Congo, Kongo University, etc.) as well as abroad (University of Würzburg, University of Liège, Pan-African University Yaoundé II). He has been a lawyer at the Kinshasa/Matete Bar since 2007.

Before joining the Aequitas Legal Partners team, Me Jean-Michel Kumbu ki Ngimbi served in several key roles, including as Coordinator of the Access to Justice Project for the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Expert for the Political Governance Program of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the DRC from 2005 to 2015, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Social Security Fund. Me Yves-Junior Manzanza Lumingu is a lawyer and university professor in the DRC (at the Universities of Kikwit, Catholic University of Congo in Kinshasa, and New Horizons in Lubumbashi) and abroad (at the Universities of Würzburg and Giessen in Germany, and the University of Sherbrooke in Canada).

Combining his academic experience as a legal scholar with his commitment to socially responsible entrepreneurship and intercultural skills, Me Yves-Junior Manzanza Lumingu supports businesses, particularly foreign ones, in setting up operations or representing their products in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Passionate about combining legal practice with his teaching vocation, he is pursuing a doctoral degree in Civil Law at the University of Würzburg while also serving as a lecturer at the University of Kikwit.

Author of several scholarly reflections, he has gained significant experience and developed solid legal knowledge and skills, particularly through teaching, scientific research, and participation in handling various practical cases.
